Sehpaathi and Girl Up TISVV  Visit Samarpan Foundation

Samarpan Foundation is a charitable not-for-profit entity established in September 2006, focusing on humanitarian, ecological, environmental, and animal welfare needs. Students who are part of Sehpaathi and Girl Up TISVV  visited Samarpan Foundation on 8 May 2024 with the dual objective of teaching basic English skills and engaging the students in recreational activities. They implemented interactive teaching methods with games, and public speaking to facilitate learning, covering topics like alphabets, articles, comprehension and foundational topics. Our volunteers  also organized various games and activities like Atlas, Eye-Spy, with worksheets to promote teamwork, creativity, and mental activity. The students’ enthusiasm and active participation showcased the success of our efforts in creating a positive impact. Overall, the visit was a fulfilling experience, emphasizing our commitment to holistic education and development. This is an ongoing project for Girl Up TISVV; they plan to visit on a  weekly basis.  The visit was a fulfilling experience, emphasizing our commitment to social outreach, and holistic education for all.

Potter’s Wheel (Clay Modelling)–An Intra Class Competition for Class II (April 2024)

The  session’s first intraclass competition for Class II was held on  3 May 2024. Each student crafted a bouquet of clay flowers following the theme ‘Bouquet of Flowers’. Their creations showcased their creativity with unique styles and colour combinations. As a result, each section was transformed into a picturesque garden adorned with delightful bouquets. Lyric League ((English/ Hindi Rhyme Recitation)– An Intra-Class Competition for class Nursery ( May 2024)

Lyric league – The Intra class Poetry Recitation Competition for nursery students in May 2024 saw an enthusiastic response with the young contestants vying with each other to exhibit their confidence and recitation skills. Kids love to play and poetry is all about playing with rhyme rhythm and words. What an excellent way for the little ones to practice their verbal communication skills ! Honouring Gurudev’s Legacy – Primary Wing Celebrates Rabindra Jayanti 2024

Rabindra Jayanti  was celebrated by the students of the Primary Wing  on  8 May 2024 with a blend of cultural activities, educational sessions, and artistic expressions, paying homage to Tagore’s rich legacy.The celebrations included a soul-stirring rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic song “Ekla Chalo”. Young learners engaged in a creative colouring activity, depicting Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in vibrant hues. Enthusiastic young dancers showcased their skills, gracefully interpreting Tagore’s compositions through dance, thereby infusing the celebration with grace and melody. Through a hands-on activity inspired by Tagore’s poem ‘Paper Boats,’ students crafted paper boats using origami techniques. They then pasted their creations underneath the poem, symbolizing Tagore’s enduring legacy flowing through the currents of time.  Students were introduced to Tagore’s  famous short story ‘Kabuliwala’  through  a screening of the timeless classic   A comprehensive powerpoint presentation on the life and times of Gurudev  Rabindranath  Tagore was shown. Other students immersed themselves in Tagore’s timeless stories, exploring themes of love, compassion, and humanism. Subsequently, students reflected on some of these, constructing visual maps to understand key elements, thereby fostering critical thinking .This  harmonious blend of cultural performances, educational activities, and artistic expressions, highlighted Tagore’s relevance as a beacon of enlightenment and inspiration for generations to come.

Inter House Snap, Style & Share Competition (VI-VIII)

The ‘Snap, Style & Share’ Inter-House Competition on 18 April 2024, showcased the creative talents of students from classes VI-VIII, each House presenting their take on ‘India in Motion: Everyday Heroes’. From detailed photography to heartfelt narratives, participants displayed empathy  and passion. With dynamic duos of speakers and photographers, participants captured the essence of the theme through self-clicked photographs, adhering to editing and submission guidelines. On the day of the event, speakers eloquently explained their photographs, emphasizing the relevance to the theme. Joyful Learning : XII B Debates Israel-Palestine in UN Simulation

During their political science class on 29 April 2024 , the students of Class XII B engaged in a simulation of the General Assembly, exploring the role of the United Nations, under the mentorship of their teacher. They debated and crafted resolutions on the topic of the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, making their learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

Discover the future of technology and career opportunities with a captivating session by Mr. Anchit Goel, Founder of Eknavya Labs and Head of Partnerships at Onramp.money. On April 30, 2024, students from Classes XI and XII were treated to an enlightening discussion on Web3 and blockchain technologies. During the session, Mr. Goel elucidated the decentralized nature of Web3 and blockchain, shedding light on their potential to revolutionize various industries. He provided real-world examples of blockchain’s effectiveness in enhancing transparency and efficiency through distributed ledgers and smart contracts. A highlight of the talk was the exploration of career avenues within Web3 and blockchain, ranging from blockchain developers to smart contract engineers. Mr. Goel emphasized the importance of skills in programming languages such as Solidity, cryptography, and critical thinking for success in these roles. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing students to seek clarification and gain valuable insights into carving a career path in the dynamic field of Web3 and blockchain technologies.

Earth Day 2024 – Love The Earth As You Would Love Yourself

Treat the Earth with the same love you have for yourself Earth Day goes beyond being just a date; it serves as a reminder of our duty to safeguard and cherish our planet. Since its inception in 1970, Earth Day has transformed into a global movement that transcends boundaries, cultures, and beliefs. Students at TISVV have always been deeply committed to conservation. Across primary, middle, and senior classes, students commemorated the day with various activities.In Class I, students created headbands to express their concern for the environment. By using biodegradable materials, they became more aware of the importance of using resources wisely and reducing waste. They wrote a pledge and proudly wore the headbands all day. Class II watched a video about Versova Beach, Mumbai, and learned about ways to protect our planet. They made Earth Day badges and pledged to reduce the use of plastic bags. Class III engaged in crafting upcycled creations that promoted sustainability and environmental awareness, turning discarded materials into art. These hands-on activities helped them develop a deeper appreciation for Earth’s resources and the significance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. With a focus on promoting environmental stewardship, Class IV learned about nurturing and caring for living things by growing their own plant. Through poster making, they expressed their commitment to protecting the Earth and its resources, culminating in a pledge to take concrete actions to conserve the environment. Class V celebrated the wonders of nature by creating terrariums. They realized that even small actions can contribute to conserving our planet’s precious biodiversity. The students proudly displayed their terrariums, showcasing the beauty of nature and their dedication to its protection.Students from Classes VI to VIII participated in various activities, including quizzes, competitions, and talent shows at a special assembly held to mark the day. The school’s talented singers and dancers presented a beautiful performance highlighting the importance of responsible water consumption, using the exemplary architecture of Rajaon Ki Baoli as an example. Senior classes watched a specially created video that sparked lively class discussions. Teachers also wore artistic badges designed by members of the creative Art Club.The message was clear: Take care of the Earth, and she will take care of you.

Tagore’s Legacy in China Honoured by Online Cultural Interaction with Shanghai School

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to China. The Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (SPAFFC) hosted a delegation of Indian scholars and artists titled “Retracing Tagore’s Footsteps in China” on 15 April 2024.The delegation includes Tagore scholars, artists, and media journalists who visited Jinyuan High School in Shanghai. They joined the online calligraphy class with our students and the students of  Jinyuan High and were delighted to witness the cultural exchange. 

Inspiring Young Minds: Hindustan Times’ Creative Writing Workshop for Class VII

Dive into the world of storytelling with the Creative Writing Workshop organized by Hindustan Times on February 20, 2024, exclusively tailored for Class VII students. Led by Ms. Nitika Jain, the workshop unfolded a plethora of tips and tricks aimed at elevating the students’ skills in crafting compelling stories. Engaging activities such as “Complete the Story Line” and “Suggest an Alternative Ending” sparked creativity among the participants. The latter session by Ms. Surekha Jain introduced the young minds to the joys of writing in Hindi. A mesmerizing story was shared, complemented by a self-written poem, nurturing a newfound appreciation for the language. The workshop concluded with valuable feedback from the enthusiastic students and a gracious vote of thanks delivered by Ivaan Choudhury.
