Senior Athletic Meet 2023: Celebrating Excellence and Sportsmanship

“A dream becomes a goal, when attitude flames within you, think deep for every thought leads to the goal”….unknown

Sports transcends mere enjoyment or victory; it infuses life with joy, ignites our souls, forges profound friendships, stimulates our intellect, and sparks the desire to test our limits. On Wednesday, December 13, the school buzzed with excitement as students adorned their House goal posts, adorned balloons, and hung banners, all resonating with the theme ‘Pixels to Pitches.’ Painted in their House colors, faces beamed with anticipation as mascots stood ready and  competitors warmed up.

Ms. Bhavna Tokekar, our esteemed Chief Guest, shared her journey from a late-starting powerlifter to holding the world record for a single lift bench-press of 77 kg. Passing the torch, she administered the oath, stressing the vital role of integrating sports into our daily lives.

In alignment with our school’s commitment to inclusivity, the day commenced with a unified race for students from Tamanna school celebrating their moments of triumph. This was followed by a race where the visually impaired students showcased their mettle. In the subsequent races our dedicated support staff displayed their fitness prowess in spirited competition. From hurdles to flat races, inter-House relays to high jumps and shot put, each event radiated excitement and fierce competitiveness.

The race between the main cabinet and assistant main cabinet engaged the entire school, uniting students in a spirited display of camaraderie and friendly competition.

The vibrant atmosphere echoed with the students’ exuberant cheers, further elevated by the crisp commentary delivered by Priyanshu, Soha, Prabhtej, and Tishya. The prestigious JK Sen Memorial Prize, recognizing the Best Sports Boy and Girl in each category, found deserving recipients this year. Nitin Ekka of Class XIIB and Gauri Bansal of Class XIB claimed the honor in the Senior category, while Adarsh Chauhan of VIIB and Aarna Sapra of VIIIA emerged victorious in the Junior category.

Adding to the triumph, Shanti House secured the overall trophy for the best House, achieving an impressive hat trick for the third consecutive year. Pragati House earned the well-deserved runner-up position.

Beyond the medal standings, the essence of true sportsmanship shone through, emphasizing that victory is not the sole measure of success; gracefully accepting defeat is equally paramount. In the spirit of healthy competition, we believe that everyone who participates emerges as a winner. Following the Biennial, Sports Day 2023 became another cherished memory for the senior school students, showcasing the enduring spirit of camaraderie and athletic excellence.
