On 30 September 2024, Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar took a remarkable step in promoting hands-on science learning by distributing DIY Foldscope kits to Class VI students. The Foldscope, a compact, paper-based microscope capable of magnifying objects up to 2,000 times, is designed to open young minds to the wonders of the microscopic world. This initiative aimed to spark curiosity and ignite a passion for science by allowing students to explore and observe their environment in ways that traditional classroom settings cannot. The joy and amazement on the students’ faces were a testament to the powerful impact of this tool, which transforms science from theory into a real-world adventure. With the Foldscope, students are encouraged to ask questions, make discoveries, and engage in scientific exploration beyond textbooks, laying the foundation for a lifelong interest in the natural world.
