Education Through Monuments

Education Through Monuments is an exciting new educational  initiative spearheaded by Mr Sandeep Sethi, Director (Education) MSMSII Museum Trust, Jaipur.  The endeavour was to deepen the understanding of different subjects like Math, Science, Business Studies, Economics, Accountancy, languages, etc. through an in-depth study of  historical monuments and architectural sites.

The students (from Classes IX, X and XII) learned the application of concepts of force, pressure, sum- angle property, geometry through our chosen monument  Rajon ki Baoli at Mehrauli and delved into the history, science, engineering, economics behind its construction and working. The students also penned the lyrics of a song based on the need for water conservation, the importance of Baolis and the story behind  Rajon ki Baoli. The song was then set to music and choreographed. The bioscope created by the art students of our school along with their beautiful painting of the Rajon ki Baoli  made using the carbon tracing  technique was a huge crowd puller despite the presence of more than 30 schools from across the country.

The presentation  in K.R. Mangalam World School, East of Kailash on 04 April 2024 and  in DPS Sector 45 Gurgaon  on 05 April 2024 received immense appreciation for their concept clarity, confidence and strong communication and explanation skills. Our students were complimented by personalities like Mr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE, Ms. Purnima Datt, Principal Director at INTACH, Mr. Abhinav Singhal, Co-founder, Class24,  Mr. Vikramjit Singh Rooprai, renowned author, educationist and heritage activist and many more. This out of the box educational project proved to be a true amalgamation of experiential, creative, inter-disciplinary and joyful learning and will remain an unforgettable experience for the participants.
