Niyamat Kochhar selected for the prestigious Youth Advisory Board at the WiSci Camp South Asia
Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar has initiated its own wing and is proud that Niyamat Kochhar of Class XII was selected for the prestigious Youth Advisory Board at the WiSci Camp South Asia (the only Indian girl there) and delivered a keynote address to 100 girls from South Asia and the USA. She also interacted with female mentors from Google, United Airlines, NASA, and other esteemed organizations, visited notable sites like KSUM, and gained insights from a solar-powered boat excursion. Highlight moments included meeting the US Consul General of Chennai and presenting her STEAM project, ‘Menstra,’ which converts biodegradable pads into biogas for sustainable electricity.
Invited recently to the “Let the Stars Align” event by the US Embassy In Delhi, Niyamat celebrated US-India space collaboration. She engaged with the US ambassador and the Deputy Chief of Mission, presenting her project, Menstra, aimed at empowering women and promoting environmental sustainability. Girl Up at Tagore International School stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to inculcating leadership, advocating equality and promoting sustainability.
Celebrating Innovation: A Triumph at Shanghai’s Global Sci-Tech Arena!
From 01 to 6 August, 2024, the Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Innovation Camp 2024 proved to be a groundbreaking experience for our students Aditya Choithani (Class X) and PB Srikrithi (Class XII) Our school’s project, EchoGrocer—an innovative shopping model empowering visually impaired individuals—stood out among 72 exhibits from 63 schools across Asia and Europe. Competing against the best and the sole entry from India ; our project clinched the first prize!
The event, themed “Science, Innovation, Dream,” was a dazzling showcase of creativity and collaboration. Highlights included the Youth Sci-Tech Innovation Achievements Exhibition, where our project received widespread applause, and the “Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow” Tournament, challenging students to create engineering marvels.
Adding to the excitement, our student Srikrithi captivated the audience at the Closing Ceremony with a soulful rendition of “Arziyan,” blending Indian culture into the global mix. This international gathering wasn’t just about competition; it was about building bridges, exchanging ideas, and forging friendships that transcend borders. The 2024 Shanghai Camp was a celebration of innovation, diversity, and helped participants to better understand the world we live in and the challenges in the field of science.
Vedansh Khetarpal and Samaiyraa Singh were top performers in the essay writing competition organised by GEMA
Vedansh Khetarpal of Class IV and Samaiyraa Singh of Class VI participated in the International essay writing competition organised by GEMA. They have been awarded a medal and certificate of appreciation for being one of the top performers in the Sub Junior and Junior Category respectively. The topic for the Sub Junior category was “If I Could Invent Anything, I Would Create..”and for the Junior category was “The Influence of Social Media on Teenagers”.
TIS Student Secures Second Position in Chinese Proficiency Competition
The 17th Chinese Proficiency Competition was held on 15 June 2024 at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. Organized by the Chinese Embassy, the event aimed to foster stronger relations between China and India and to promote the Chinese language. Thirteen participants from universities and secondary schools across India took part, with six participants from secondary schools. Our student Wangmo Tamang of Class XC won the second position in this challenging event.
The competition had two main rounds: a speech round and a talent show. Participants initially submitted talent videos online, followed by an online preliminary round where they recited poems. The final round included a speech and talent show segments. Each participant received a gift and a certificate in recognition of their efforts.
The judges commended the participants for the quality of their performances. The event highlighted our students’ proficiency in the Chinese language as well as for their talent and confidence.
TIS VV Student Selected for 2024 WiSci South Asia Girls STEAM Camp
Niyamat Kochhar from TIS VV has been chosen as a member of the prestigious Youth Advisory Board for the 2024 Women in Science (WiSci) South Asia Girls STEAM Camp. This honor is reserved for a distinguished group of ten girls selected from around the world. As the representative of India, Niyamat is the sole Indian youth speaker, addressing hundreds of girls and uniquely contributing by teaching yoga.
This all-expense-paid opportunity, supported by the United Nations Foundation and Girl Up, highlights the privilege of being among the select few who can inspire and empower young women in STEAM disciplines across India, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and the United States. The WiSci Camp, founded in 2015, is an intensive summer program that exposes teenage girls to the STEAM disciplines and career possibilities, builds leadership capabilities, and enhances cross-cultural awareness.
Hosted in Kochi, India, from June 1 to 9, 2024, the camp brings together up to 100 girls aged 15-17 from various regions. Following the camp, Niyamat will advocate for global gender justice and promote the involvement of girls in STEAM fields, continuing to make a significant impact on her peers and the broader community.
Ecotwill: Representing Sustainability on the Global Stage
Four students, Taran Saxena, Rhea Sehgal, Ridhika Tokas and Divyaansh Sinha, alongside mentor Ms. Manpreet Kaur, showcased Ecotwill at the JA Asia Pacific Company Of The Year Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from March 11 to 15, 2024. Their sustainable venture, crafting bags from upcycled plastic wrappers, impressed judges and competitors alike from 12 countries and 21 teams. Ecotwill’s innovative approach garnered attention, selling out on the first day. Originating from a student brainstorming session, Ecotwill debuted at tGELF’s Harmony – Company Of The Year Competition in July 2023, securing third place nationally and advancing to the international stage. This journey not only enriched the students’ learning but also highlighted our school’s dedication to sustainability and creativity.

The SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan has recognized the notable contributions of Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, in nurturing cultural and educational connections between India and Uzbekistan. Dr. Parul Tyagi, the Principal, and Ms. Sonia Bhatia, Head of Department, were honored with certificates for providing students with invaluable opportunities to interact with their peers in Uzbekistan. The school has been a pioneer in promoting cultural exchanges and educational collaboration with Uzbekistan, thereby fostering mutual understanding across different cultures.
STEM Challenge 2023
STEM CHALLENGE 2023 was organized by Warren’s Academy of Excellence and funded by the State Government of Victoria, Australia. Our students Taran Saxena and Atharva Chauhan of Class XI secured the 14th Rank and our school was ranked among the top 5% of the performers .
Saatvik S Menon shines in International English Olympiad
Saatvik S Menon of class IV-A secured International Rank 1 in International English Olympiad conducted by SOF. He was felicitated on 28 May, 2023 at the 25th International Award Ceremony held at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
Students shine at International Dance Fest 2023 in Dubai
The International Dance Fest 2023 was organised in Dubai in collaboration with the Consulate General of India. Our school participated in the event with much enthusiasm and competed against schools from 21 different countries.We are proud to announce that our team of dancers from Classes VII, VIII and IX won the Judges Choices Awards in the Group Folk Dance Category.
Speed Cubing Expert Kavish Mangal
Nine year old Kavish Mangal of Class V won the Excellence Award in the Bronze Category at the Summers International Speed Cubing Tournament 2023 held on 12 March 2023. Kavish was able to solve 2*2, 3*3*3, Skweb and Pyraminx in the 08 – 13 years category within 160 seconds.
Kavish also participated in two other events and was awarded a trophy, medal and certificates for creating a new World Record. These events are World Icon Awards and Noble Book of World Records. He was the fastest in solving the Pyraminx and 3*3*3 Rubik’s Cube where more than 1500 students participated.
Kavish developed this interest in the Rubik’s cube during his travel time in the school bus. He used to compete with his schoolmates and wanted to develop this skill further. He is now working on the Big Cube category and wants to excel in this field and represent Delhi / India in his future competitions.
Winner of International Debating League
The results of International Debating League 2022 were announced in which 4000 students from 15 countries participated. LalnunKimi of Class X was adjudged the Global winner in the 9-12 category. She has been awarded USD 75 and certificate of excellence for her achievement. The judges were really impressed with her clarity of thoughts and debating skills, Congratulations to LalnunKimi.
Team Tyron represented INDIA in the 2022 JA Asia Pacific Company of the Year competition
Team Tyron, consisting of Aadhityan Subramanian, Bavleen Kaur, Gurmaan Singh and Vansh Saigal of Class XII represented ‘INDIA’ in the ‘2022 JA Asia Pacific Company of the Year competition’ held in Indonesia. 17 countries participated and team Tyron was among the Top 10. . They have been felicitated with laptop bags and certificates. Team Tyron had earlier won at the national level organised by tGELF.

Tanvi Nandal of Class X B has made TIS proud, she has won the silver medal in judo at the 7th Children of Asia International Sports and Games held at Vladivostok, Russia, from 27 July to 8 August 2022.
Tanish Chaudhary and Namya Chhabra awarded the Best Digital Technology Award
The FedEx Express / JA International Trade Challenge (ITC) is a competition organised by JA Asia Pacific, and sponsored by FedEx Express. In this event our students Tanish Chaudhary and Namya Chhabra awarded the Best Digital Technology Award.
During the event they created international market entry strategy plans for the given product and target market.

GEMA,a highly acclaimed After School Activity Platform organised the International Student Essay Contest 2022, Raahithya Gupta of Class V, Arshia Vermani of Class VIII and Sammyak Jain of Class XI excelled in their respective categories and received certificates and exciting gift vouchers.
Students won laurels in Essay Writing Competition organised by Experience Japan
Nidhir Bardhan of Class VIII was declared the MEGA WINNER of an essay writing competition organised by Experience Japan . He wrote on the topic Friendship of India and Japan -Past, Present & Future.
In the Senior category, Medha Setia of Class XII won the Consolation prize for her essay on the topic- Japan’s contribution in the development of Modern India.
Winners of World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge
World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge was held on 07 April 2022. Out of 200+ teams from all over the world, Team Tyron consisting of Divya Sijwali and Parth Puri of Class XII was the only team from India to make it to finals . The finalists were from India, Ireland and Japan. Our team won the competition at International level and were awarded with USD 5000.
