Anyone who has once been there would probably agree that Winterlude , winter fete at TIS,VV is synonymous with fun and excitement. And finally, on 17 December 2022, after the gap caused by the Pandemic, the fete was back ! And it was all that everyone had been eagerly waiting for. Brightly decorated stalls set up by each class, with a plethora of games, are always enjoyable , especially for the younger ones. Ring the Pinocchio, Can Can , Miss- Match , Bank a Ball – the names were as varied as the games.
The senior students were all to be found on the dance floor, jiving to the latest numbers. The school band too gave us some lively melodies. Bhoot Bangla , always a huge draw, had its collection of horrors , sending spooky thrills down everyone’s spine. The rides, Columbus and Break Dance especially, were huge hits. The food stalls had been doing excellent business from morning but as evening drew on , the aromas of kababs, shwarma, vada pau , brownies and more drifting across the grounds , brought even larger numbers to sample the delicious food available. A number of consumer goods stalls also attracted many customers. Jukebox, the request stall, kept the atmosphere cheerful with their peppy announcements and choice of foot tapping music. Parents , alumni, retired teachers , and of course all the students thoroughly enjoyed the carnival atmosphere, and left with some great memories.
