The Peer Mentoring Club Looks at ‘Body Image’

Body image refers to the way a person feels about his or her body mentally, emotionally and physically. Having a healthy body image goes beyond what’s reflected
in the mirror. It includes having compassion for oneself and recognizing the strengths and qualities that make one unique beyond weight, shape or appearance. In an
interactive session on 7 November 2022, our Peer Mentors from the senior classes guided the younger students of Classes VI, VII and VIII on how to build a healthier body image using videos and activities. Affirmations, positive self talk, acknowledging what the body does for us were just some of the ways that were shared. The students were also encouraged to build a “compliment fan” which highlighted their strengths well beyond the physical.
