21st century learners must master much more than the core curriculum to succeed in the world outside. Technology based competitions include opportunities for students to think critically , display creativity, work autonomously in some instances, or in others, to work together in teams, strengthening collaborative and communication skills.
Ordin@trix,the annual Inter School Technology fest was organised by the Computer Department and the Pyrotech club of our school on 4 May 2023 for students from Classes III to XII. There eight offline events,while one was online – all sporting innovative names like Innovate@trix, Script@trix, Movie@trix , Ad@trix, Crypt@trix, Anim@trix, Snap@trix, IOT@trix and Game@trix. Over 51 schools from Delhi NCR participated in this event. The events were judged by an panel of eminent personalities including Meenakshi Rai and Vinay Rai (Founders of Early Education Web channel, www.chinh.in) for Movie@trix and Ad@trix, Gaurav Kapoor (Educator and Primary consultant to many startups in India) and Tomesh Dutta (Motion Graphic Editor, Walk Agency) for Anim@trix, Kashu Bhalla(Director, Photo Nest) and Palak Maheshwari(Food and Product Photographer, Global Platter is her startup) for Snap@trix, Ansh Bhargava(Director, Taxmann Publications) and Vijay Pandita (MD, OptSoft IT Business Solutions Pvt Ltd) for Innovate@trix , Dr Akash Sondhi(Lead Research Program, IHFC, IIT Delhi) and Mr Mohit Jaiswal(Co Founder of Kurious Learning Labs) for IOT@trix.
While the overall winning team was Amity International School, Gurugram, it was a closely fought competition that demonstrated the technological expertise of all the participants. Real-world problem solving, challenges requiring hands-on involvement, and out-of-the-box thinking are some of the skills these young tech whizzes will certainly be able to transfer to other spheres.
