Radio takes us on a journey of connection and communication, with the power to unite hearts and voices across the globe. Frequency Modulation provided a unique platform for participants from schools across Delhi, to showcase their skills at Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar on 02 August 2023.There were three events , On Air! Ru-B-R and Synth-X, with a preliminary online round and a final round which was held offline, at the school. Each category challenged the contestants to demonstrate their unique style, technical expertise, and ability to captivate audiences.
On Air! required participants to create a Radio FM Show that had four components: a song/poem, an RJ, a comic piece and a commercial. The final round however had a twist ; participants now had to add two new elements, for example a social issue like gender equality or safety of migrant labourers etc. With unique titles like Kaleshi Cupid or Guppy Guides, the witty shows entertained the audience immensely, making it a difficult choice for judges Mr Kartik Chawla and Ms Sayema Rehman
Synth-X was an online event where competitors were given a list of six well known movies. They had to explain the plot of the selected movie through a medley of songs and dialogues from different genres. Judges Mr Kartik Chawla and Mr Moksh Dhawan decided the top three submissions
Ru-B-Ru comprised an interviewer and interviewee who had to record a radio interview on the topic ‘Celebrity Activism Truly Drives Change’. The twist in the final round saw the original pairs separated with interviewers being allotted a new character on the spot. The new topic for the interview, judged by Mr Shirshendu Banerjee and Mr Sameed Anwar, was ‘The New Face Of Journalism Is Cancel Culture’.
