Spanish National Day was celebrated by students of the Middle School on 12 October 2023. Spain’s National Day commemorates the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas and is also sometimes known as Día de la Hispanidad, or Hispanic Day to commemorate Spain and its cultural legacy. The students started with a Spanish – English introduction to brief the audience about the significance of the day. They then performed the Flamenco accompanied by a Spanish song and staged an enactment of Bull Fighting. There was a short quiz about Spain for the audience. The celebration ended with the Spanish National Anthem. The students later enjoyed various group activities (like a Spanish lyrics completion game) in their classrooms.
