On 23 August 2024, Class X students participated in a pivotal sexuality education workshop conducted by the Pratisandhi organization. The workshop addressed crucial topics such as sexual health, consent, masturbation, virginity, contraception, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The session began with a focus on informed decision-making and mutual respect, encouraging students to approach sexual activity responsibly. Masturbation was normalized as a natural behavior, breaking associated stigmas. Myths surrounding virginity and the hymen were debunked, highlighting that virginity is a social construct. Various contraceptive methods were discussed, emphasizing informed choices. Students also learned about STIs, their prevention, and the importance of regular medical check-ups. The session ended with a Q & A where students’ queries were addressed with care. This workshop provided a safe, respectful environment for exploring these topics, empowering students to make responsible and informed choices.
