Say No to Drugs – UNODC Workshop

Say no to drugs, say yes to good health, because it is in our hands to create a better world for all those who live in it.
With this noble thought in mind and the intention of involving the young changemakers of tomorrow in creating a drug and crime free world, an interactive and informative session was conducted by UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) for the dynamic Tagoreans of Class XI on 03 July 2023 in the school auditorium. UNODC’s Regional Representative, Mr. Marco Teixeira was the chief speaker.
Mr Teixeira, a native of Portugal, has been appointed the new Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Regional Office for South Asia (UNODC ROSA). He assumed his duties in India from November 2022. Within UNODC, Mr. Teixeira has led programme development and implementation, partnership building and resource mobilization efforts in various positions. He was accompanied by Mr. Samarth Pathak (an active member of Advocacy & Communications, South Asia at UN OBC) and Ms. Arunima Kaul (youth volunteer and moderator)
They interacted at length with the students, sensitizing them to the gravity and extent of this menace. Meaningful and vital questions posed by the students were patiently answered by Mr. Marco, helping them gain insights into the issue. Colourful eye-catching posters were prepared by the students to spread awareness among the student community. The program culminated with a pledge taken by the audience to end the spectre of drugs and crime.
