The excitement of seeing the teachers letting their hair down, dressed according to whatever theme has been selected by the School Cabinet, singing, dancing or acting and generally having a great time – this is what has always made Teachers Day so special and after two years of online celebrations we were finally back to the real thing !
5th September saw quite a role reversal in TIS VV, teachers in their ripped jeans, sneakers and tee-shirts while the senior students were in saris or kurtas; what was going on ? Well, this time the dress code for teachers was ‘Gen Z’ – and every teacher had plunged right into the spirit of things, going all out to get the look just right ! Many senior teachers, who have now retired, were there too, celebrating with us – showing their deep bond with TIS . Their vivacity and brio were to be seen in the humorous skits and graceful dances they staged, an apt tribute to the spirit of the school’s Golden Jubilee. Performances by the current teachers and by the students of Classes XI and XII were equally riveting. The students had worked hard to plan a perfect celebration for the teachers with their heartwarming words of gratitude and the beautifully clicked pictures for each teacher. A perfect confluence of ‘Kal , Aaj aur Kal’ – it took us down memory lane and also created some new and delightful memories that will long be cherished.
